As AI systems move into important domains like trading, robotics, healthcare and automation, the biggest risk is no longer capability, but verifiability. If an AI agent makes a decision, how do you know it actually ran the intended model without being tampered with or faked? DSperse exists to answer that question cryptographically. Proof of Inference Most AI today operates on trust assumptions. DSperse replaces those assumptions with Proof of Inference (PoI) using zero-knowledge machine learning (zkML). Instead of trusting that an AI ran correctly, DSperse lets the network prove it, mathematically. Very importantly without revealing: 🔸 The model weights 🔸 The internal logic 🔸 The private inputs The result: AI outputs that are verifiable, private, and tamper-resistant. High level explanation of Subnet 2 Dsperse verifies AI models via these 4 steps: 1️⃣ Model decomposition Miners break the model into smaller, verifiable components, focusing only on the parts that matter for correctness. 2️⃣ Zero-knowledge proving These components are executed and turned into cryptographic proofs that assert: “This model ran correctly, on this input, producing this output.” 3️⃣ Distributed verification Proof generation is spread across the network for efficiency and resilience. 4️⃣ On-chain validation Validators verify the proofs, score them on correctness and efficiency and reward miners accordingly. This turns AI execution into something that can be validated and replayed, rather than blindly trusted. DSperse VS TEEs Trusted Execution Environments rely on: 🔸 Specific hardware vendors 🔸 Firmware integrity 🔸 Service provider honesty Where DSperse relies on math. No special hardware, single trusted provider or existing backdoors in cryptographic proofs. All while users get proof the AI behaved correctly and model owners keep their IP fully private. This unlocks commercial AI use cases that TEEs alone can’t safely support. The Team DSperse is built by @inference_labs, founded in 2022 by engineers with deep backgrounds in safety-critical AI, aviation systems, national infrastructure and software. This is not a crypto team experimenting with AI. It’s an AI team applying cryptographic rigor to decentralized systems. Bittensor needs this Bittensor isn’t just about producing intelligence, its about producing reliable intelligence. As agents become autonomous and capital allocating, trust becomes the bottleneck. DSperse removes that bottleneck by making AI behavior verifiable by math.
