    No blockchain is the "internet" of anything. Blockchains are siloed, peer-hosted databases. There are hundreds of these siloed databases that all need to be connected to one another. Furthermore, our existing financial infrastructure like Swift, DTCC, Fedwire, FIX, credit card networks, clear and settle transactions off-chain. Thus, the "internet of value/finance/whatever" protocol is a protocol that sits above and across all chains to connect them all *and* enables orchestration of workflows with legacy financial networks using standards like ISO20022 messaging. That looks like this attached image. If your blockchain is dependent on another protocol to connect it to all of these other chains and networks, then the thing connecting is the "internet"; not the chain that needs connecting.
