Telegram will bring Self Custody to over a billion people. Pavel Durov announced that this summer a native, non‑custodial Gram wallet will be added to every Telegram app. Users will be able to control cryptocurrencies directly in the messenger and send them instantly without fees, without a central provider holding the private keys. If Telegram truly implements this simply and globally, it would be one of the biggest steps toward crypto mass adoption. A separate wallet app would become a function within the messenger. Important technical details are still missing, but the potential is enormous: Self Custody could become directly accessible to over a billion people for the first time.
