    Mount Vesuvius has a scalping problem. With 700,000 annual visitors crammed into peak season, Italy's famous volcano became a hotspot for counterfeit tickets, inflated resales, and unverifiable booking channels. The core issue? No reliable internet at the crater. Despite having QR-code turnstiles, the systems couldn't verify tickets in real time, so scalpers thrived in the gap. ------------------------------------------------------------ The park built a new Wi-Fi network capable of handling 500+ simultaneous connections at 1,000 meters altitude. Now turnstiles validate tickets against central databases instantly. Dynamic QR codes replace easily-copied static ones. Duplicate or reused codes get blocked on the spot. Integrated into the Wi-Fi system is "AlgoWiFi", an @AlgoFoundation based feature that lets visitors generate a "digital postcard" proving they visited the crater. It's an immutable, on-chain attestation of presence. The blockchain adds a traceability and collectible layer on top of traditional infrastructure. Think of it as an accessory layer that adds traceability and narrative value, but does not replace the infrastructure. It's also a replicable template, imagine blockchain-verified visits at the Colosseum, Pompeii, or major museums. ---------- This is real institutional adoption in Italian public infrastructure, joining other Algorand deployments like Conio's Enel partnership and Blockchain Italia's NFT ticketing. What does this mean? Well, for starters, 700,000 visitors to Vesuvius will know about Algorand. But that's not all, this is foundational building to a wider audience, where the proof of concept works. $ALGO
