Neutral DeFi interfaces only.

No custody. No advice. No routing. No backdoor incentive schemes. No monetized user flow disguised as “Infrastructure.”

Sonic can hide behind “the chain” all it wants, but the app layer is where this falls apart. FeeM rewards developers based on user transaction activity. That is not neutral. That is not passive. That is a built-in financial incentive tied directly to onchain flow.

So let’s stop pretending.

Under this framework, Sonic’s app ecosystem looks structurally incompatible with compliance. The more Sonic depends on FeeM, the harder it gets to argue these apps are just neutral interfaces.

This is exactly the kind of model regulators are going to look at and say: no.
