We shipped continuously on the mobile app, revisiting and updating older mechanics like Merkle VIP and liquidation fees, and pushing the roadmap forward such as the Decibel integration.
Thank you to everyone who traded with us, shared feedback, and stuck with us through the year. We're heading into 2026 with clear priorities.
To close out the year, a quick update we promised on MKL buyback & burn: preliminary planning is underway, team will be publishing a proposal draft soon on the mechanics and next steps (stay tuned!).

Merkle Trade launches a new VIP loyalty system, simplifying rewards and enhancing the utility of the MKL token.
Introducing @Merkle_Trade VIP — a redesigned loyalty system built to be simpler, clearer, and more rewarding for active traders.
Starting Jan 2, 2026, Merkle VIP replaces Trader Levels, XP, and Gears with a straightforward, tier-based system inspired by leading exchanges.
🔹 How it works
• VIP tier based on trailing 30-day trading volume
• Optional MKL holding boost (up to +3 tiers)
• Clear, predictable fee discounts per tier
• VIP tier evaluated daily at 00:00 UTC
🔹 Why the change
As Merkle expands to a broader audience, the loyalty system is being simplified to reduce complexity and cognitive overhead—making rewards instantly understandable and directly tied to real trading activity, while giving MKL clear utility.
🔹 Fair transition
Existing users receive a guaranteed minimum VIP tier for 3 months, based on current or adjusted ATH Trader Level, ensuring no sudden loss of status.
🔹 What’s removed
Trader Levels & XP, Gears, weekly missions, and streaks are being sunset in favor of one clean system focused on trading volume.
🔹 Referral update
New referrals now grant temporary VIP tiers (VIP 1 or VIP 2+), aligned with the new structure.
Merkle VIP is designed to deliver simpler rewards, clearer incentives, and fee tiers that match how traders already think.
