I'm not trying to accuse anyone of a so-called pump and dump.

But the scheme that kind of KOL uses I've heard countless times. It still exists today.

The modus operandi:
1. There's a channel that announces a whale is about to buy a certain coin, which is expected to rise by tens to hundreds of percent.
2. People are told to join a group or be on standby at a specific time to buy.
3. Suddenly they are told which coin to buy.
4. Because it happens so fast, you can't tell whether the info came first or the coin already rose because it was bought by their circle.
6. The group or channel owner creates FOMO to make members buy.
7. The price soon drops. The owner flaunts big profits. Members? Some end up losing.

If you look closely, many groups or channels use this exact scheme, often copying the wording verbatim. Typically you'll find one on MEXC, one on Binance, one on Bybit, or other CEXes.

Just search for keywords like “mega pump” or similar.
