The GENIUS Act could actually hurt stablecoins - not help them.

If it passes as written, issuers can't pay yield business-to-business. That kills the Circle-Coinbase revenue sharing model entirely.

"It's not just that Coinbase can't pay yield to users. It's Circle can't pay yield to Coinbase anymore. And everything changes."

But decentralized stablecoins like USDS are exempt. Which means if this passes, Sky becomes one of the most valuable plays in all of crypto overnight.
