All week at @ParisBlockWeek, everyone I spoke to had only one topic on their mind: Heuro, whose president we interviewed on Monday when the project was announced.
This €600M euro stablecoin, virtually unknown just days ago, has risen to the top of the global euro stablecoin rankings, ahead of @Circle and @SG_Forge.
With the public endorsement of Finance Minister @RolandLescure featured in the company’s press release.
But behind the announcement, unease is widespread.
Here's what we found investigating:
👉 An opaque ownership structure: the French company is 100% owned by a Hong Kong holding whose ultimate beneficiaries are unknown
👉 Four corporate name changes since 2017
👉 A €600M stablecoin not listed on any exchange
👉 An unusual minting pattern (issuance on Ethereum, burn, then reissuance on Solana) that obscures traceability
👉 A Romanian PSP partner already sanctioned by local authorities, reportedly serving as a

The mistake people make with AI in crypto is thinking “Better model = better answers.”
