    I don’t even think relative valuation is fair at this point. You need to price these on TAM capture. Why? Because perps are unavailable in the largest financial markets today. Do we think perps are a market that is 100x where it is today? I certainly do. We only have widely traded perps (with deep liquidity) on maybe a dozen assets. But the broader financial market has thousands of them. Some of this market will be captured by CEXs / CME / ICE and that’s ok. But to me the future lives onchain. Settlement is better onchain. Thus who wins this market? Right now there are only two candidates in my view building for that future. Hyperliquid and Lighter. Distribution will matter. So which will institutions prefer to route flow to? A secure, zkrollup that settles to Ethereum, with a CFTC license (pending). Or an obscure L1, that plays in the grey. The world is big enough both can win. Look at Tether and Circle. Binance and Coinbase. But is Lighter really worth 1/30th of Hyperliquid then if both will follow similar trajectories? Can Hyperliquid really win in a highly regulated market? If you don’t know the answer to that. Holding both is your hedge.

    Surprised the ethereum:0x232ce3bd40fcd6f80f3d55a522d03f25df784ee2 trade is as controversial/pump as surprising as people make it seem Good team, good tech, good connections Probably worse than @HyperliquidX still Probably not 30x worse than hyperliquid:native like the valuations would currently indicate Perps are the ultimate TAM, both can do many multiples from here (and I'm betting that they will). In fact perps is such a large TAM, you can't really afford to be right on the thesis but end up picking the wrong horse to back. It's a BIG pie, lots to go around. If either revenue/valuation multiple gets meaningfully overextended relative to the other, probably decent time to rebalance You can own both You probably should Tribalism keeps you poor in crypto

    Absolutely agree. A token isn’t infinite magic internet money. If you’re launching a token, you should be creating value for its holders the same way you’d create value for shareholders. hyperliquid:native is the best example of how a token should work.

    Most projects should have equity or tokens, not both. It's not that equity and tokens *can't* work. In theory, both can accrue value in the same system provided each conveys real ownership over valuable property. But in practice, equity and tokens usually *don't* work, for a number of reasons that make single asset models better in most cases: (1) Misaligned incentives. Companies with shareholders have a fiduciary duty to drive value to equity, not tokens. Holding tokens on a balance sheet doesn't solve this problem on its own, because there will always be some difference between the best interests of shareholders versus tokenholders. For example, a profit-generating business will nearly always return more value to shareholders by retaining that profit rather than socializing it across all tokenholders. There may be ways to wiggle out of the legal obligation here, but no way to avoid the misalignment itself. Over time, its impact typically grows rather than shrinks. (2) Ambiguous value accrual.
