Aerodrome did over $70 billion in trading volume on @base this year, double the next best DEX. The Aero protocol is actually a cash business. The numbers: > @AerodromeFi holds the #1 pool on Base and four of the top ten. > It recently cleared ~$950M in daily DEX volume. > 30-day fees hit $8.73 million on $310.4 million TVL. > 30-day volume runs 2.5x Uniswap V4 with 18x capital efficiency. > Q1 2026 revenue was $20.5 million, 5th among all DEXs. > Over $500 million in total revenue has gone to token operators. Buying would mean, buying the liquidity layer of the fastest growing Ethereum L2. The supply flip > Locks now exceed emissions. Supply is functionally contracting for the first time. > Protocol-owned liquidity has locked over 190 million AERO. > $66 million in buybacks completed, 7th in all of DeFi. > A burn mechanism is live. > The AER Engine now pays rewards per pool based on productivity. The honest caveat is that the circulating supply just hit an all-time high of 952 million tokens but buybacks, locks, and burns are now pulling against it, and at a $462 million cap that flow is material. The Coinbase signal: > Coinbase Ventures bought AERO on the open market at retail prices, its largest onchain token purchase ever. > Coinbase itself is accumulating veAERO to control governance of Base's liquidity layer. > The company that built the chain is buying the token that governs its liquidity. > Grayscale added AERO to its DeFi Fund. July: > Velodrome merges into Aero Protocol, expanding to Ethereum and Circle's Arc chain. > Predictive Allocation launches, replacing weekly votes with a market where LPs bet on capital routing. > Cross-chain trading on Solana, Base, and BNB is already live. > The Stablecoin FX Layer launched days ago and took 51% market share immediately. Buybacks and locks need to absorb the 962 million float faster than the July expansion grows revenue. ~$34M in revenue so far this year, the market is still pricing the old emission schedule. July is when that assumption gets tested.
