Post-quantum cryptography just went live on NEAR's testnet, and it works. Want to build the quantum-proof future of blockchain? build it on NEAR. Here's why that's a big deal. quantum computers will eventually break the elliptic-curve crypto that every chain signs with today. its security rests on a math problem that's hard for normal computers and trivial for a quantum one. that's the clock ticking under all of crypto. The fix is a completely different class of math. NEAR added lattice-based signatures, the kind of cryptography NIST spent years stress-testing in a global competition and then standardized as the official quantum-safe replacement. its security comes from finding the shortest path through a maze of thousands of dimensions, something a quantum computer has no shortcut for. not homemade crypto, the vetted standard, now a real key type you can put on a NEAR account. And NEAR could just turn it on. on Bitcoin and Ethereum your address is your key, so changing the cryptography means abandoning the address. on NEAR your account is a name with rotatable keys: you add a quantum-safe key, rotate, and you're protected, same account. the model was built for this years ago. Every chain will eventually have to fight the quantum threat. NEAR is one of the only ones you can already defend on today.
