What happened with Yonatan Sompolinsky at the Binance Awards is honestly hard to ignore. He won the Independent Researcher category. The community voted for him. His contribution to blockchain research is undeniable. His follow-up post addressing Binance pulled in almost 3 million views. And yet at the actual ceremony… he was completely left out. No mention. No acknowledgement. The award was handed to the runner-up as if the real winner didn’t exist. Binance hasn’t responded to him, hasn’t clarified the situation, hasn’t even shown the basic respect of addressing a message from the person who actually won their award. At this point it feels clear: Binance cares about one thing - the flow of money. The rest, including independent researchers who push the industry forward, seems secondary at best. Yonatan Sompolinsky (@hashdag ) Kaspa founder, was voted the number one independent researcher. @michaelsuttonil was voted the number three industry advocate.
