🚨 Philippines SEC Issues Investor Alert on Unauthorized Crypto Platforms The Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission has flagged dYdX and six other crypto platforms for operating without the necessary licenses. Promoters of these unauthorized platforms could face fines up to 5 million pesos ($89,000) or imprisonment for up to 21 years under local securities law, according to a Cointelegraph report.

Kevin Warsh is a candidate for the next Federal Reserve Chair. As required, he must submit a financial disclosure filing before the Senate confirmation hearing, which shows that he holds positions in at least 20 crypto‑related projects, including dydx, Polymarket, Lighter, Optimism, Solana, Blast, and others. I'm not surprised by any of these, but I didn't expect that he also dabbled in the algorithmic stablecoin Basis, which operates in a model similar to an algorithmic central bank. That project dates back to 2018, a long time ago; it raised $133 million at the time, with a16z also investing, but it was shut down due to regulatory issues. It’s easy to see that he is deeply involved in crypto, with a level of engagement that exceeds that of most people with Fed or Wall Street backgrounds, and even surpasses many in the crypto community who are considered degens. (Additionally, if the hearing is approved, he would be required to liquidate all of the aforementioned crypto holdings.)
