According to the Vietnam Law Newspaper, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam disclosed the progress of the ONUS digital currency case. The Security Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security (A09) said that the police filed a case on March 23, 2026 and prosecuted eight defendants, charged with appropriating property and money laundering using computer networks, telecommunications networks or electronic means. The police said that the persons involved have been creating circular transactions through digital currencies and multiple “ecosystem companies” since 2018, attracting individual investors, and the total amount of e‑currency sold to investors exceeds VND 700 billion (approximately USD 26.8 million). So far, the police have received more than 2,000 reports, have initially seized over 350 kilograms of gold and silver, and have blocked eight real‑estate transactions worth VND 200 billion (approximately USD 7.7 million).
