💬 CZ's revelations in his autobiography:
- When he was 13, his father spent 7,000 Canadian dollars on an x286 computer. CZ believes that without this “big investment” from his father, he wouldn't be the person he is today.
- He mentions SBF. In 2022, on the eve of FTX’s collapse, CZ considered rescuing the platform. But when he discovered they weren’t even able to produce a full balance sheet within 24 hours, he gave up.
- Regarding Terra, he states that Binance invested 3 million dollars in 2018, acquiring $LUNA, which had reached a value of 1.6 billion dollars before the crash.
The team discussed the possibility of reducing their holdings, but ultimately decided not to.
They feared a massive sale would exacerbate market panic, and CZ said he didn’t want the outside world to perceive the platform as having “abandoned ship before retail investors.”
