The author believes ZEC has bottomed out, presenting an easy buying opportunity, and refutes claims that it will go to zero.

@marjanul78 Oh. So you weren’t around when the company behind Zcash was raising venture capital before it launched? Were you around for the “trust me, bro” setup? How about when they were taxing miners? I was there. But please, do educate me.

Arthur Hayes called $ZEC, $NEAR, and $WLD. He exited near the peak and later disclosed his sale while turning bearish. The result? All three have round-tripped back to where they started before his endorsements

➥ Every cycle has a group of alts that look strong against BTC Right now, the names people keep watching are $ZEC, $NEAR, $HYPE and a few other high-beta leaders They have stronger narratives, cleaner catalysts, better relative strength and more active buyers than the average alt But I still think most of them finally share the same fate when $BTC turns down hard The reason is simple: crypto still trades on one core liquidity cycle - when $BTC is stable, capital moves outward to alts - but when $BTC starts breaking down, the market stops pricing upside narratives & starts pricing liquidity risk This is where strong alts usually fail, not because the project suddenly becomes bad but the buyer base changes behavior When volatility rises, funds reduce risk - market makers widen spreads → leverage gets cut → retail stops rotating - profits from outperformers get harvested first, you’ve seen such cases with @CryptoHayes sold his entire $ZEC, $HYPE and $WLD That is why the strongest alts often become the best source of exit liquidity Once BTC dominance rises again, that bid disappears quickly This is why I do not judge alts only by how hard they pump against $BTC I look at 4 things: - is the move driven by real demand or only narrative rotation? - is there enough liquidity to survive forced selling? - are unlocks, emissions or insider supply creating future pressure? - can the token keep attracting buyers when BTC stops going sideways? Historically, every cycle shows the same pattern - strong alts outperform during BTC consolidation - they peak when traders believe “this time it is different” - then BTC breaks structure, liquidity contracts and correlation goes back to 1 In bullish rotation, alts trade on individual stories In market stress, they trade as one basket That hurts alts more than BTC BTC is still the cleanest macro asset in crypto, most alts are still venture-style risk assets with public liquidity So my view is simple: I can respect strength in $ZEC, $NEAR, $HYPE and other leaders I can even hold some names with real fundamentals But I will not ignore the main rule of crypto cycles: - when BTC goes down with force - strong alts become the last positions people sell before the market resets The real edge is knowing when that outperformance stops being accumulation and starts becoming distribution

    Interesting that Bitcoin is down bad but alts show strong signals today - $HYPE printed $4.8M in daily fees June 2 - $PENDLE prints $44.44M in DEX vol, +208% in 24 hours - $CRV DEX hits $157M in spot vol, up 75.5% in 24h - $CAKE with $62.5M vol, up 51.8% - $RAY AMM rev up 202% day-over-day to $59.7K - $AAVE V3 fees today reaches $1.62M vs $1.05M yesterday → +54.9% spike - $XVS core pool rev +964% DoD, BSC's top lending protocol nearly 10x'd its daily rev - $BNB, $NEAR, $TON, etc. all sitting above EMA-200 what’s wrong with $ETH and $BTC?

Although altcoins perform strongly in the short term, they will face liquidity depletion and sell‑off risk when Bitcoin drops.

Researcher Who Found Zcash Bug with Opus 4.8 Adds Monero to His Audit Queue Security engineer Taylor Hornby, who recently used Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.8 AI model to uncover a critical vulnerability in Zcash, stated that he intends to add Monero (XMR) and other privacy-focused cryptocurrencies to his upcoming audit queue. On May 29, Hornby, commissioned by the non-profit developer Shielded Labs, discovered a severe soundness flaw hidden in Zcash's Orchard privacy pool since May 2022.

Polymarket traders are now predicting that there is a 45% chance that $ZEC will hit $100 before 2026 ends. This probability has gone up rapidly by 28% in the last 24 hours! Do you think $ZEC will be able to achieve the $100 target this year? https://t.co/8VlpTfGZZG

ZEC made a low of 257 today. Zcash's founder confirmed what happened with the Orchard exploit. Within 5 days of discovery, they pushed an emergency fork to patch it. But the details are wild: > Security researcher Taylor Hornby found a critical soundness bug in the Orchard shielded pool that allowed unlimited counterfeit $ZEC minting. > The bug had been live since Orchard launched in May 2022. It has been there for 4 years. > Hornby used an AI model (Opus 4.8) to find it before any attacker did. > An emergency soft fork disabled Orchard on June 2. Hard fork with a corrected circuit dropped June 3. And yet, the scariest part isn't the bug itself. It's that due to Orchard's privacy design, it's cryptographically impossible to prove whether the exploit was used before the patch. The supply integrity of $ZEC cannot be fully verified; this is even scarier. That's the core tension Zcash has always lived with: privacy as a feature is also privacy as a blind spot. Now where does $ZEC go from here? Short

this is a 2024 post from the security research who discovered the orchard bug on zcash taylor was questioning LLM-based security audit and thought 50%+ of the work could be automated this number has likely increased 1.5 years later how much would that be today? 75-85% maybe?

Is anyone working on LLM-based security auditing tools? I have a hunch that like 50%+ of what I do during an audit can be completely automated now with some clever prompting and ways of presenting the source code to the LLM.
