In its 2026 Digital Asset Outlook, Grayscale detailed this view. The core argument is that the emerging "agent economy," where autonomous AI agents transact, contract, and settle payments, requires infrastructure that is verifiable, programmable, and censorship-resistant. Traditional payment rails cannot support sub-cent, sub-second transactions at global scale. Blockchains can.
