IOTA (IOTA)

Back in January, $IOTA mentioned in its manifesto that 5 country pilots were expected to go live

So far, 3 have been announced through ADAPT:

🇰🇪🇲🇦🇳🇬Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria

That means 2 more are still expected for this year. (?)

What makes it interesting is that IOTA specifically mentioned North America as one of the target regions.

And this connects with something Dominik said about a year ago:

pilots were already underway to ship goods between the U.S. and other countries.

This could matter a lot.

Especially because Salus is already showing how TWIN/IOTA can be used around real-world trade finance, critical minerals, verified documents and U.S.-linked buyers.

Head of Salus also visited Washington D.C some time ago.

Then there is Southeast Asia.

🇻🇳Vietnam was already mentioned last year as a possible pilot candidate, which would fit the regional clue very well.

And with Africa being the strongest current rollout region, one more African country is also still possible.

🧵 Africa isn’t talking about digital trade anymore. It’s building it.

The latest update on @iota ADAPT marks an important milestone.

This is no longer just a roadmap or a whitepaper.

Implementation is officially underway. 👇

ADAPT (Africa Digital Access and Public Infrastructure for Trade) is led by the AfCFTA Secretariat in partnership with the IOTA Foundation, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and the World Economic Forum.

Rather than launching another blockchain pilot, the goal is to build the digital infrastructure that will support trade across the African continent.

The vision is ambitious.

ADAPT aims to create a trusted digital backbone connecting all 55 African nations participating in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Instead of relying on fragmented national systems and paper-based processes, countries will be able to exchange trusted data through a shared digital infrastructure.
