Bitcoin on Base (BTCB)

Root Cause: The attacker took advantage of an unusually low BTCB price reported by the Median Oracle. Because the Spotter module did not have safeguards such as price deviation checks, drawdown limits, or a minimum acceptable price, the incorrect value was written directly into the Vat.

The Dog liquidation module then relied on this updated price without any delay or additional validation, allowing the attacker to immediately liquidate several BTCB-backed vaults.

🚨UPDATE: Blockchain security firm SlowMist says a single-transaction combo exploited missing price protection and liquidation delays, letting an attacker liquidate multiple BTCB vaults using an abnormally low oracle price.
