BUIDL Asia Day 2, and overall the lineup of speakers and panels from IsCapital and BUIDL Asia, as well as the presentations, are very substantial and contain a lot of good content. However, as mentioned before, most retail-focused events in the current crypto ecosystem have practically lost their visitor numbers. Events or conferences geared toward institutions are actually far more efficient. The biggest advantage I noticed in this type of conference is that you can meet and talk with speakers and actual industry founders quite easily. Yesterday I listened to LayerZero’s @alexlimasia pitch and wanted to talk off-the-record after, but I was disappointed not to meet him. Today, even though he wasn’t a speaker, I was able to briefly greet him when attending the event and exchange related inquiries and business cards. Usually for events like KBW in the second half of the year or overseas conferences, if you want to talk with speakers you have to look for separate opportunities at networking events or get introduced through connections. With the current retail atmosphere somewhat cooled, B2B‑based on‑site meetings have become very easy to arrange, which is a major advantage. In other words, buying a conference ticket just to hunt for goodies isn’t very meaningful, but if the goal is to talk with founders or speakers and panelists who set the direction of projects and gain insights, there seems to be no better time than now to expand your network and meet diverse people.
