I first heard about Oshi around the time they raised a $12.5M round led by Polychain.
at first, it caught my attention as an “anime focused project,” but over time I realized it was more than just anime.
This is a team that truly knows what they’re doing and more importantly, knows what they want to build. I’ll get into the details.

Oshi’s goal became very clear to me over time..
this is a team that knows exactly what it wants
They’re trying to turn anime from something you just watch into an ecosystem that grows together with its community.
From events to campaigns, everything revolves around anime culture.
and the best part: they don’t step away from this niche.
No “there’s hype here, let’s do that” mentality.
They know what they’re building and they stick to it.
that alone shows how deliberate and intentional their vision is.

I joined the server on【January 16, 2025】
when I first joined, there was a role called Sprout, a nice role given to early members.
Later, there was a purge for that role, tasks were announced…
yeah… the signals were literally bouncing off my bald head, that thing reflects everything

The result?
I now proudly carry this role...

Still, there’s a small hope inside me…
maybe one day there will be a way to revive it lol

After missing the Sprout (early role) train, I decided to take things seriously.
I started joining monthly events consistently to work toward the Wanderer role.
【current status】
400 Fragments (for those who don’t know.. we earn fragments through events, consistency matters, and there are also small reward (20 Fragments) activities like Discord rumbles, Rinbot games, etc.)
with 100 more Fragments from the next event, i’ll be at 500.. since Wanderer requires 1000 Fragments, i’d say I’m halfway there.
most likely I’ll earn that role next month.

【to be honest..】
My anime knowledge isn’t very deep.
but being part of this community has taught me things little by little naturally, without forcing it.
I even joined a Pokémon Sketchful event, and the head moderator liked my drawing. Big thanks for the good energy.
I did learn the Pokémon by “studying” it from the internet first… but hey, not knowing isn’t shameful, not learning is, lol
that’s why this place always felt organic and enjoyable to me.
Not “I have to be here,”
but “I want to hang out here.”

What started as a university graduation project by a single artist, Akiwashi, has grown into:

what Oshi is doing here is genuinely valuable
Instead of just acquiring the IP and shelving it, they’re supporting the creator by building the official website and social channels together.
with MahoSeka joining the Oshi platform in early 2026, it clearly shows the vision.. Oshi isn’t about a single IP, it’s a home for multiple worlds.

and of course, the topic everyone’s been waiting for... GATE 2
Yes, there was a long period of silence.
but that silence didn’t mean they disappeared, it was production and coordination happening behind the scenes.
Studio work, platform development, campaign structure… it feels like something good has been cooking.
They probably didn’t want to speak until things were solid and personally, I really respect that approach.

【to sum it up..】
For me, in 2025, Oshi was one of those rare projects that..
› doesn’t compromise its niche
› doesn’t chase hype
› genuinely loves anime
› and puts the community at the center
I truly believe this story will become much more visible in 2026.
