Two different security attacks occurred in the crypto space.
Taiko attack👇🏻
The attacker generated a fake proof to approve a non-existent chain state on Ethereum. Then they withdrew about 1.75M $ from Taiko’s bridge and token vaults.
After the Taiko attack, the network and bridge were temporarily halted. After investigation, the system was reopened.
AFX attack👇🏻
Approximately 24.15M USDC was stolen from the native bridge of the AFX Protocol operating on Arbitrum.
The funds were moved to Ethereum and converted into about 12.467 ETH.
The two attacks resulted in a total loss of roughly 25.9M $.
