    Trying to forecast growth, retention (of revenue from customers) and acq/marketing spend IS the alpha. Every analyst out there, when projecting cash flows and doing DCF, traces back to revenue forecasting. Revenue is assumed to additively reach a bigger number as they forecast out, then a terminal value calculation is performed, and that represents about 80% of the stock price. So if you can forecast revenue and assume its durability (to prevent traps), you are on the right track. Even if you can't forecast revenue, but you have a hunch on retention, then the company HAVE to grow (while assuming the company's product/service didn't do dumb stuff). For example, idk what HYPE's HIP-4 market size and the revenue that drives it will be. But I do know that, given their track record of execution, they will make something well loved. Then every $ of revenue generated from trading fees is just a cherry on top. Thus, you should really be concerned about whether the product is good, rather than obsessing with numbers IMO Then every new pair listed on HIP-3, drives a new set of user = growth + retention esp if its a new category class (commodities, equities, pre-ipo). Idk i think its just easier (maybe even lazier lmao) to reason like this. Like extract the core principles that makes something successful (+ price pump). That's why I sometimes tell my friends to look at an investment from a product manager lens and you'll have a hunch on things sometimes
