    The underlying problem with money hasn't changed in five thousand years: How do you get two parties to recognize the same unit of value and rely on it? Most money is already digital. What changes now is what the record can do. Ownership and transfer can be represented on the same programmable ledger With smart contracts coordinating the conditions for execution and settlement. Stablecoins are an early version of this. On-chain transfer volume crossed $33 trillion in 2025, up 72% from the previous year. Total supply moved past $320 billion in April 2026. A portion of that volume comes from trading rather than payments So the headline number cannot be read as commercial usage on its own. The underlying growth is still substantial. The @IMFNews places this within a broader reconfiguration of financial infrastructure. Rules written into the ledger begin to coordinate parts of the transaction that previously moved across separate, unreconciled systems.

The project is GBTD, the Great British Tokenised Deposits initiative, live tokenized sterling moving across major UK banks. It's being called the world's first industry-built tokenized deposit payment system. Quant's Overledger is the layer making it work, linking bank ledgers and existing rails like Faster Payments through one integration. And banks pay for Overledger access in QNT.
